Chengalpattu Rural Development Society (CRDS) is a non-profit developmental organisation working with the indigent people of Kanchipuram Distirict for the past two decades. It is the official organ for Justice, Peace and Development of the the Diocese of Chengalpattu, and it envisions for actualisation of self-respect, self-reliance and self-governance to the communities in distress and need.

CRDS has been formally registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 (Reg. No. 40/90) on October 15, 1990. A team of visionaries with a common dream of enabling the indigent rural communities to empower them to accomplish social, economic, education, health, agriculture and political ends, voluntarily put forth concerted effort in the creation of the society.
